Tuesday, February 9, 1999
The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met at 11:06 a.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, Clifford Lincoln, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Mauril Bélanger, Paul Bonwick, Maurice Dumas, John Godfrey, Raymond Lavigne, Clifford Lincoln, Inky Mark, Ted McWhinney, Mark Muise and Suzanne Tremblay.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Gaston Blais and Luc Gagné, Researchers.
Witness(es):From the Department of Canadian Heritage (Parks): Tom Lee, Chief Executive Officer; Bruce Amos, Director General; From the Department of Canadian Heritage: Laurent Tremblay, Executive Director; Alain Roy, Legal Counsel.
Pursuant to the Order of Reference of the House dated Tuesday, December 1, 1998, a study of Bill C-48, An Act respecting marine conservation areas.
It was agreed, - That the Committee meet in camera for fifteen minutes prior to the meeting scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 1999.
At 11:08 a.m., Tom Lee made a statement and with the other witnesses, answered questions.
At 12:37 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
