The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met at 11:10 a.m. this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Clifford Lincoln, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Sarmite Bulte, John Godfrey, Clifford Lincoln, Caroline St-Hilaire; Inky Mark and Mark Muise.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Joe Jackson, Researcher.
Witnesses: From the Center for Research-Action on Race Relations: Fo Niemi, Executive Director. From the University of Toronto: Dr. Wesley Crichlow, Lecturer, Ontario Institute for Studies in Education. From Carleton University: Karim Karim, Professor, Department of Journalisme and Communications and Director, Pearson-Shoyama Institute. Social Worker: Jean Brown-Trickey.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), Consideration of a Canadian Cultural Policy.
Fo Niemi, Karim Karim, Jean Brown-Trickey, Wesley Crichlow made opening statements and answered questions.
At 12:45 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
