Meeting No. 93

Wednesday, April 28, 1999

The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met at 3:35 p.m. this day, in Room 705, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Clifford Lincoln, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Mauril Bélanger, Maurice Dumas, Joe Jordan, Clifford Lincoln, Inky Mark and Mark Muise.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Joe Jackson, Researcher.

Witnesses: From the Department of Canadian Heritage: Eileen Sarkar, Assistant Deputy Minister, Arts and Heritage and David Walden, Director, Moveable Cultural Property, Arts and Heritage.

Pursuant to the Order of Reference of the House dated Friday, April 23, 1999, a study of Bill C-64, An Act to establish an indemnification program for travelling exhibitions.

Eileen Sarkar and David Walden made opening statements and answered questions.

At 4:00 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
