MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS

Meeting No. 103

Tuesday, June 1st, 1999

The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met in camera at 3:28 p.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Clifford Lincoln, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Mauril Bélanger, Paul Bonwick, Sarmite Bulte, Maurice Dumas, John Godfrey, Raymond Lavigne, Wendy Lill, Clifford Lincoln, Inky Mark and Mark Muise.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Joe Jackson, Researcher. As consultants: David, Black, Kevin Burns and Wanda Noel.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its consideration of a draft report on a Canadian Cultural.

On motion of Sarmite Bulte, it was agreed,--That the amounts for the contracts of Wanda Noel, Kevin Burns and David Black be increased as follows:

Consultants

Wanda Noel

$12,200.00

from $8,000.00

Kevin Burns

$ 8,800.00

from $6,000.00

David Black

$11,700.00

from $7,500.00

On motion of Sarmite Bulte, it was agreed,--That the Committee retain the professional services of Louis Majeau, from May 3, 1999 to June 9, 1999 to provide French editorial services for the draft report on Canadian culture and that the maximum of the contract be $10,000.00.

On motion of Sarmite Bulte, it was agreed,--That pursuant to Standing Order 108(1), dissenting opinions from the report or supplementary to it, be included as an appendix following the Chair's signature.

At 4:20 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
