WEDNESDAY, MAY 27, 1998

 

The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met at 3:39 o’clock p.m., this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Clifford Lincoln, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Mauril Bélanger, Wendy Lill, Clifford Lincoln, Mark Muise, Pat O'Brien and Jim Pankiw.

Acting Member present: Jocelyne Girard-Bujold for Suzanne Tremblay.

In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Gaston Blais and René Lemieux, Research Officers.

Witness: From the Canadian Nature Federation: Kevin McNamee, Director, Wildlands Campaign.

Pursuant to the Order of Reference of the House dated Friday, April 3, 1998, a study of Bill C-38, An Act to amend the National Parks Act.

Kevin McNamee made an opening statement and answered questions.

At 4:22 o’clock p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
