TUESDAY JUNE 9, 1998

 

The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met at 11:15 o’clock a.m., this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Clifford Lincoln, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Clifford Lincoln, Mauril Bélanger, Sarmite Bulte, John Godfrey and Jim Abbott.

In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Susan Alter, Research Officer.

Witnesses: From the Canadian Association of Broadcasters: Michael McCabe, President and CEO; Duff Roman, President of the Board of the CAB; Michel Tremblay, Executive Vice-President and Jill Birch, Vice-President, Radio.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), consideration of a Canadian cultural policy.

Duff Roman, Michael McCabe, Michel Tremblay and Jill Birch answered questions.

At 12:20 o’clock p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
