THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 1997

The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met at 9:15 o’clock a.m., this day, in room 362 East Block, the Chair, Clifford Lincoln, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Clifford Lincoln, Mauril Bélanger, Sarmite Bulte, John Godfrey, Dennis Mills, Pat O'Brien, Jacques Saada, Jim Abbott, Caroline St-Hilaire and Mark Muise.

Acting Member present: Jocelyne Girard-Bujold for Suzanne Tremblay.

In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: René Lemieux and Susan Alter, Research Officers.

Appearing: The Honourable Andy Mitchell, Secretary of State for Parks.

Witness: Patrick Borby, Director General, Strategy and Plans.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), Overview of Parks Canada.

The Honourable Andy Mitchell made an opening statement and with Patrick Borby, answered questions.

At 11:00 o’clock a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
