MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS

Meeting No. 92

Tuesday, April 27, 1999

The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met in camera at 3:36 p.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Chair, Clifford Lincoln, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Mauril Bélanger, Paul Bonwick, Maurice Dumas, Joe Jordan, Raymond Lavigne, Wendy Lill, Clifford Lincoln, Inky Mark, Mark Muise and Caroline St-Hilaire.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Joe Jackson., Researcher.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), Consideration of a Canadian Cultural Policy.

By unanimous consent, the Committee proceeded to consider it's future business.

It was agreed,--That Officials of the Department of Canadian Heritage be invited to brief the Committee regarding Bill C-64, An Act to establish an idemnification program for travelling exhibitions on Wednesday, April 28, 1999 at 3:30 p.m..

It was agreed,--That the CBC be invited before the Committee on Thursday, May 6, 1999.

It was agreed,--That, subject to availability, a Round Table on Bill C-64 be organised on May 11, 1999.

It was agreed,--That, subject to availability, the Minister of Canadian Heritage be invited to appear before the Committee on May 12, 1999.

It was agreed,--That Clause-by-Clause on Bill C-64 commence on May 13, 1999.

By unanimous consent, the Committee proceeded to consider a draft report on Canadian Cultural Policy.

At 4:55 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
