Meeting No. 47

Thursday, October 22, 1998

The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met at 11:10 a.m. this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Clifford Lincoln, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Paul Bonwick, John Godfrey, Raymond Lavigne, Clifford Lincoln, Inky Mark, Ted McWhinney, Dennis Mills and Mark Muise.

Acting Member present: Maurice Dumas for Suzanne Tremblay.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Gaston Blais and Grant Purves, Researchers.

Witnesses: From the National Film Board: Sandra Macdonald, Government Film Commissioner and Chairperson; Barbara Janes, Director General; Lyette Doré, Director, Corporate Affairs.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), Consideration of a Canadian cultural policy.

The Committee resumed its consideration of a Canadian cultural study.

Sandra Macdonald made an opening statement and, with Barbara Janes and Lyette Doré, answered questions.

At 12:00 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
