Wednesday, November 18, 1998
The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met at 3:35 p.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Chair, Clifford Lincoln, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Paul Bonwick, Sarmite Bulte, Clifford Lincoln, Inky Mark, Ted McWhinney, Dennis Mills and Mark Muise.
Acting Members present: Pierre de Savoye for Suzanne Tremblay and Charlie Penson for Inky Mark.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Gaston Blais and Grant Purves, Researchers.
Witnesses: From the Time Canada Ltd.: Donald F. Brown, President; Ron Atkey, Counsel, Osler, Hoskin & Hancourt, Barristers & Solicitors; George Russell, Editor. Pursuant to the Order of Reference of the House dated Tuesday, November 3, 1998, the Committee proceeded to the study of Bill C-55, Foreign Publishers Advertising Services Act.
