The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met at 9:14 o’clock a.m., this day, in room 269 West Block, the Chair, Clifford Lincoln, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Mauril Bélanger, John Godfrey, Dennis Mills, Pat O'Brien, Jacques Saada, Jim Abbott, Caroline St-Hilaire, Suzanne Tremblay, Wendy Lill and Mark Muise.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: René Lemieux and Susan Alter, Research Officers.
Witnesses: Tom Lee, Assistant Deputy Minister, Parks Canada; Laurent Tremblay, Executive Director of Quebec, Parks Canada and Jean Rhéaume, Legal Counsel
Department of Justice.
Pursuant to its Order of Reference of Tuesday, November 4, 1997, Consideration of Bill C-7, An Act to establish the Saguenay St. Lawrence Marine Park. and a consequential amendment to another Act.
ORDERED,--That Bill C-7 be now read a second time and referred to the Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage.
The Chair read the Order of Reference.
