Thursday, June 4, 1998
The Standing Committee on Natural Resources and Government Operations met at 11:30 o’clock a.m., this day, in room 536, Wellington Building, the Chair, Brent St. Denis, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Réginald Bélair, Gerry Byrne, David Chatters, Roy Cullen, Pierre de Savoye, Ovid L. Jackson, Carmen Provenzano, and Brent St. Denis.
Substitute Members present: Sue Barnes for Ben Serré, Claude Drouin for Jerry Pickard, Ken Epp for Darrel Stinson, Bill Gilmour for Jim Gouk.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Jean-Luc Bourdages and Jack Stilborn, Research Officers.
Witnesses: From the Climate Change Secretariat: David Oulton, Head; Ian McGregor, Deputy Head.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the terms of reference it adopted on April 23, 1998, a study on climate change.
The witnesses made statements and answered questions.
At 12:40 o’clock p.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 12:42 o’clock p.m., the sitting resumed, in camera.
The Committee discussed its future business.
ORDERED – That this Committee send for all documents relating to the building of a coin plating plant in Manitoba, with the exception of any information that would be commercially or legally sensitive.
At 1:00 o’clock p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
