Thursday, November 27, 1997.

The Standing Committee on Natural Resources and Government Operations met at 11:10 o’clock a.m., this day, in room 308, West Block, the Chair, Brent St. Denis, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Gilles Bernier, Roy Cullen, Jocelyne Girard-Bujold, Ovid L. Jackson, Jerry Pickard, Carmen Provenzano, Ben Serré and Brent St. Denis.

Acting Members present: John Williams for Jim Gouk.

In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: : Jack Stilborn, Research Officer.

Witnesses: From Treasury Board Secretariat: David W. Miller, Assistant Secretary, Expenditure Management Sector; Martin Ulrich, Director, Results Measurement and Accountability. From Griffith University (Australia): John Wanna, Associate Professor, School of Politics and Public Policy.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), briefing session on the Improved Reporting to Parliament Project and Treasury Board's Performance Report for the period ending March 31, 1997.

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

At 12:45 o’clock p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
