The Standing Committee on Natural Resources and Government Operations met at 3:34 p.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Brent St. Denis, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Réginald Bélair, Pierre de Savoye, Tony Ianno, Marlene Jennings, Carolyn Parrish, Ben Serré, Brent St. Denis.

Acting Members present: Carolyn Bennett for Roy Cullen and Rob Anders for Werner Schmidt.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Jean-Luc Bourdages, Researcher.

Witnesses: From the Canadian Federation of Agriculture: Bob Friesen, President; From the Ontario Telephone Association: Keith Stevens, Manager, Hurontario Telephones Limited; Tim DeWeerd, General Manager/Secretary/Treasurer, Quadro Communications.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Commmittee resumed consideration of issues relating to rural telecommunications.

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

At 4:48 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
