The Standing Committee on Natural Resources and Government Operations met at 3:35 p.m. this day, in Room 362, East Block, the Chair, Brent St. Denis, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Réginald Bélair, Roy Cullen, John Duncan, Tony Ianno, Marlene Jennings, Carolyn Parrish, Carmen Provenzano, Ben Serré, Brent St. Denis.
Acting Members present: Pat Martin for Yvon Godin; Yvan Loubier for Ghislain Lebel; John Williams for Werner Schmidt; Jim Abbott for David Chatters.
Other Members present: Scott Brison and Eric Lowther.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: June Dewettering, Research Officer.
Appearing:: The Honourable Marcel Massé, President of the Treasury Board.
Witnesses: From the Treasury Board of Canada: Sharon Hamilton, Associate Secretary, Pensions Division; Alain Jolicoeur, Chief Human Resources Officer.
Pursuant to the Order of Reference of the House dated Monday, April 26, 1999,the Committee commenced consideration of Bill C-78, Public Sector Pension Investment Board Act.
The Minister made a statement and with the witnesses answered questions.
At 5:13 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
