Meeting No. 67

Tuesday, May 4, 1999

The Standing Committee on Natural Resources and Government Operations met at 9:34 a.m. this day, in Room 362, East Block, the Chair, Brent St. Denis, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Réginald Bélair, Gerry Byrne, David Chatters, Roy Cullen, Tony Ianno, Marlene Jennings, Ghislain Lebel and Brent St. Denis.

Acting Member present: John Williams for John Duncan.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: June Dewetering, Research Officer.

Witnesses: From the RCMP Divisional Staff Relations: Reg Trowell; Murray Brown; Kevin MacDougall; Bruce Morrison; Steve Chaplin. From the Association of Public Service Alliance Retirees: Jeanne Smith, President; James Infantino, Technical Advisor. As Individual: Keith P. Ambachtsheer, Keith Ambachtsheer and Associates; John Por, Cortex; Carl Otto, Carl Otto and Associates.

Pursuant to the Order of Reference of the House dated Monday, April 26, 1999, the Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-78, Public Sector Pension Investment Board Act.

The witnesses from the RCMP Divisional Staff Relations and Public Service Alliance Retirees made statements and answered questions.

At 10:55 a.m. the sitting was suspended.

At 11:01 the sitting resumed.

Messrs. Ambachtsheer, Por and Otto made statements and answered questions.

At 12:14 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
