Thursday, December 4, 1997.

The Standing Committee on Natural Resources and Government Operations met 11:08 o’clock a.m., this day, in room 308, West Block, the Chair, Brent St. Denis, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Gilles Bernier, Roy Cullen, Raymonde Folco, Jocelyne Girard-Bujold, Ovid L. Jackson, Jerry Pickard, Carmen Provenzano, Ben Serré, Brent St. Denis and Bob Wood.

Other Members present: John Williams

In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: : Jack Stilborn, Research Officer.

Witnesses: From the Office of the Auditor General of Canada: Maria Barrados, Assistant Auditor General; John Mayne, Principal, Audit Operations.

In accordance with its mandate under Standing Order 108(2), consideration of Chapters 5 (Reporting Performance in the Expenditure Management System) and 11 (Moving toward Managing for Results) of the reports of the Auditor General of Canada.

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

At 12:15 o’clock p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
