The Standing Committee on Natural Resources and Government Operations met at 11:05 a.m. this day, in Room 362, East Block, the Chair, Brent St. Denis, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Réginald Bélair, Gilles Bernier, Gerry Byrne, Roy Cullen, John Duncan, Tony Ianno, Marlene Jennings, Ghislain Lebel, Carolyn Parrish, Carmen Provenzano, Werner Schmidt, Brent St. Denis.
Associate Member present: Angela Vautour.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Jack Stilborn.
Witnesses :From the Association of Canadian Postal Franchisees: Jean-Paul Sirois, President. George Ayoub, Postal franchisee; Murkesh Gupta, Postal franchisee and Rod Beatty, Postal franchisee.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), consideration of the dispute between the Canada Post Corporation and its postal franchisees.
Mr. Sirois made an opening statement and with Murkesh Gupta, George Ayoub and Rod Beatty answered questions.
At 12:50 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
