The Standing Committee on Natural Resources and Government Operations met at 11:04 a.m. this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Brent St. Denis, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Réginald Bélair, Roy Cullen, Carmen Provenzano, Ben Serré, Brent St. Denis.

Acting Members present: Rob Anders for David Chatters; Antoine Dubé for Pierre de Savoye.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Jean-Luc Bourdages, Researcher.

Witnesses: From Industry Canada: Doug Hull, Director General, Information Highway Applications Branch; Allan MacGillivray, Director, Industry Framework, Telecommunications Policy Branch; Wayne Tosh, Director, Community Access Program, Information Highway Applications; Leonard St-Aubin, Director, Business and Regulatory Analysis, Telecommunications Policy Branch.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of issues relating to rural telecommunications.

Doug Hull and Allan MacGillivray made statements and with the other witnesses answered questions.

At 12:28 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
