The Standing Committee on Natural Resources and Government Operations met at 11:05 o’clock a.m., this day, in room 362-E, East Block, the Chair, Brent St. Denis, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Réginald Bélair, David Chatters, Roy Cullen, Pierre de Savoye, Yvon Godin, Ovid L. Jackson, Carmen Provenzano and Brent St. Denis.

In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Jean-Luc Bourdages, Research Officer.

Witnesses: From the Geomatics Industry Association of Canada: Ed Kennedy, President. From the Canadian Geoscience Council: Robert McNutt, President; Denis St-Onge, President, Royal Canadian Geographical Society.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), consideration of knowledge and technology based industries in the Natural Resources Sector.

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

At 12:40 o’clock p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
