MINUTES OF PROCEEDING
(Meeting No. 26)

Wednesday, April 1st, 1998

The Standing Committee on Natural Resources and Government Operations met in camera at 3:35 o’clock p.m., this day, in room 362-E, East Block, the Chair, Brent St. Denis, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Réginald Bélair, Gilles Bernier, Gerry Byrne, David Chatters, Roy Cullen, Pierre de Savoye, Yvon Godin, Ovid L. Jackson, Jerry Pickard, Carmen Provenzano, Ben Serré and Brent St. Denis.

In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Jean-Luc Bourdages and Jack Stilborn, Research Officers.

The Committee discussed its future business.

It was agreed – That the motion the Committee adopted on March 17, 1998, concerning its travel plans to rural communities be rescinded and that the study of rural development be deferred to a later date.

It was agreed – That the Chairman of the Committee request a budget of $3,000 from the Sub-Committee on Budget in order that Members, or Associate Members acting as their substitutes, of the Committee attend the Forest Expo ’98 conference in Prince George, B.C. from May 7 to May 10, 1998.

At 4:30 o’clock p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
