The Standing Committee on Natural Resources and Government Operations met at 8:33 a.m. this day, in the Hotel Georgia, Regal Ballroom, Vancouver, British Columbia, the Chair, Brent St. Denis, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: John Duncan, Yvon Godin, Werner Schmidt and Brent St. Denis.
Acting Members present: Joe Comuzzi for Tony Ianno; Alex Shepherd for Marlene Jennings.
Other Member present: Phillip Mayfield.

Witnesses: From the Coastal Forest Lumber Association (CFLA): Ken Higginbotham, Vice-President Coast Logging and Chief Forester, CANFOR. From the Council of Forest Industries: Paul Perkins, Vice-President, Lands and Strategic Planning, Wyerhaeuser. From the Industrial, Wood & Allied Workers of Canada: Terry Smith, Secretary Treasurer; Kim Pollack, Director, Environment & Public Policy; Darrel Wong, President, IWA Local 2171; Darol Smith, Executive Board Member, IWA Local 2171. From the Forest Alliance of British Columbia: Dr. Patrick Moore, Director. From the Association of British Columbia Professional Foresters: Nick Arkle, President; Van Scoffield, Executive Director; Jerome Marburg, Registrar & Manager Professional Standards. From the Forest Practices Board: Keith Moore, Chair. From the British Columbia Business Council: Jerry Lampert, President and C.E.O.; Jock Finlayson, Vice-President, Policy and Analysis.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) the Committee resumed consideration of a study of Canadian Forest Management Practices as an International Trade Issue.
The witnesses made statements and answered questions.
At 12:27 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
