The Standing Committee on Natural Resources and Government Operations met at 11:04 a.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Chair, Brent St. Denis, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Réginald Bélair, Gilles Bernier, Gerry Byrne, Roy Cullen, John Duncan, Tony Ianno, Marlene Jennings, Ghislain Lebel, Carolyn Parrish, Carmen Provenzano, Werner Schmidt and Brent St. Denis.
Acting Members present: Ken Epp for John Duncan; Raymonde Folco for Benoît Serré.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Jack Stilborn, Research Officer.
Witnesses :From the Royal Canadian Mint: Beverly Ann Lepine, Vice President, Administration and Finance; Danielle Wetherup, Master of the Mint; and Margurite Nadeau, Senior Counsel and Corporate Secretary Legal Services.
The Committee proceeded to consider Bill C-41, An Act to amend the Royal Canadian Mint and the Currency Act.
On Clause 1
Danielle Wetherup made a statement and with the other witnesses answered questions.
At 12:07 p.m. Carmen Provenzano took the Chair as Acting Chair.
At 12:09 p.m. Brent St. Denis resumed the Chair.
At 12:32 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
