The Standing Committee on Natural Resources and Government Operations met at 3:32 p.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Vice-Chair, Ben Serré, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Gilles Bernier, David Chatters, Pierre de Savoye, John Duncan, Tony Ianno, Marlene Jennings, Carolyn Parrish, Ben Serré.
Acting Member(s) present: Rob Anders for Werner Schmidt, Peter Mancini for Yvon Godin, Guy St-Julien for Réginald Bélair and Paul Steckle for Brent St.Denis.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Jean-Luc Bourdages; Researcher.
Appearing: The Hon. Ralph Goodale, Minister of Natural Resources.
Witnesses: From the Department of Natural Resources: Dr. Yvan Hardy, Assistant Deputy Minister, Canadian Forest Service, Mr. Mike Cleland, Assistant Deputy Minister, Energy Sector, Dr. Marc Denis Everell, Assistant Deputy Minister, Earth Science Sector, Mr. Jean-Claude St-Pierre, Director General, Mineral Technology Branch.
