MINUTES OF PROCEEDING
(Meeting No. 13)

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 1997

The Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development met at 7:04 o’clock p.m., this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Charles Caccia, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Charles Caccia, Yvon Charbonneau, Christiane Gagnon, Joe Jordan, Gar Knutson.

Acting Member present: Clifford Lincoln for Karen Kraft Sloan.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee proceeded to meet with Members and Secretariat of the Environment and Natural Resources Protection Committee of the National People’s Congress, Republic of China.

Delegation: Lin Zongtang, Vice Chairman, Leader of the delegation; Zhang Fengxiang, Member. Secretariat: Luo Jianhua, Committee’s Research Department.

The delegates made opening statements and answered questions.

At 8:15 o’clock p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
