TUESDAY, MARCH 17, 1998
The Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development met at 9:15 o’clock a.m., this day, in room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Charles Caccia, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Gérard Asselin, Charles Caccia, Rick Casson, Yvon Charbonneau, John Herron, Gar Knutson, Karen Kraft Sloan, Rick Laliberté.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Monique Hébert, Christine Labelle, Research Officers.
Witness: From the Conservation Council of New Brunswick: Juli Abouchar, Executive Director.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its consideration of the enforcement of the provisions of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act and the enforcement of the pollution prevention provisions of the Fisheries Act including related regulations and administrative agreements (See Minutes of Proceedings, dated Thursday, February 5, 1998, Meeting no. 29).
The witness made an opening statement and answered questions.
At 10:38 o'clock a.m., the Committee proceeded to sit in camera .
The Committee discussed a draft report.
At 11:12 o’clock a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
