The Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development met at 9:15 o’clock a.m., this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, Charles Caccia, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Bernard Bigras, Charles Caccia, Aileen Carroll, Yvon Charbonneau, Roger Gallaway, John Herron, Gar Knutson, Karen Kraft Sloan, Rick Laliberté, David Pratt.
Acting Members present: John Finlay for Sarkis Assadourian, Clifford Lincoln for Roger Gallaway.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Monique Hébert, Christine Labelle, Research Officers.
Witnesses: From Resource Futures International: John Moffet, Principal.
The Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-32, An Act respecting pollution prevention and the protection of the environment and human health in order to contribute to sustainable development. (See Minutes of Proceedings, dated Wednesday, May 14, 1998, Meeting No. 53)
John Moffet made an opening statement and answered questions.
At 11:18 o’clock a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
