THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 1997

The Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development met in camera at 9:08 o’clock a.m., this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Vice-Chair, Gar Knutson, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Bernard Bigras, Chuck Cadman, Aileen Carroll, Rick Casson, Yvon Charbonneau, John Herron, Joe Jordan, Gar Knutson, Karen Kraft Sloan, Dan McTeague, David Pratt.

Acting Members present: Stan Dromisky for Roger Gallaway.

In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Kristen Douglas, Monique Hébert, Research Officers.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its study of the harmonization initiative of the Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment. (See Minutes of Proceedings, dated Monday, October 20, 1997, Meeting no. 2)

The Committee commenced consideration of its Draft Report on the Harmonization Initiative of the Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment.

It was agreed,--That the Committee approve a budget of the Committee for the period of October 1, 1997 to March 31, 1998 in the amount of $67,695.00.

At 11:03 o’clock a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
