TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 25, 1997
The Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development met in camera at 9:11 o’clock a.m., this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Charles Caccia, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Bernard Bigras, Charles Caccia, Aileen Carroll, Rick Casson, Yvon Charbonneau, Roger Gallaway, Bill Gilmour, Joe Jordan, Gar Knutson, Rick Laliberté, David Pratt.
Acting Member present: Cliford Lincoln for Karen Kraft Sloan.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Kristen Douglas, Monique Hébert, Research Officers.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its study of the harmonization initiative of the Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment. (See Minutes of Proceedings, dated Monday, October 20, 1997, Meeting no. 2)
The Committee resumed consideration of its Draft Report on the Harmonization Initiative of the Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment.
It was agreed, --That those Members desiring to submit dissenting reports, provide them to the Clerk in the two official languages no later than Tuesday, December 2, 1997.
It was agreed,--That, for the Committee’s study on Climate Change, the Committee enter into a contract with Dr. Brooke Jeffrey for a period not exceeding three working days for editorial services.
It was agreed,--That the Committee pay an invoice for translation of a document on harmonization from the Canadian Environmental Network presented to the Committee on October 21 by the Canadian Institute for Environmental Law and Policy and the Canadian Environmental Law Association.
At 10:50 o’clock a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
