Pursuant to Standing Order 81(4), the Committee resumed consideration of the Main Estimates 2019-20: Vote 1 under House of Commons, Vote 1 under Leaders' Debates Commission, Vote 1 under Office of the Chief Electoral Officer and Vote 1 under Parliamentary Protective Service, referred to the Committee on Thursday, April 11, 2019.

The Chair called Vote 1 under Office of the Chief Electoral Officer.

Stéphane Perrault made a statement and, with Michel Roussel and Hughes St-Pierre, answered questions.

Motion

Stephanie Kusie moved, — That the Commissioner of Canada Elections appear before the Committee in relation to the study of the Main Estimates.

RULING BY THE CHAIR

The Chair ruled the proposed motion inadmissible because it did not relate to the Votes in the Main Estimates that were referred to the Committee.

Scott Reid gave notice of the following motion:

That the Commissioner of Canada Elections appear before the Committee to discuss the illegal contributions made by SNC-Lavalin to the Liberal Party of Canada and his decision to issue a compliance agreement.

Questioning of the witnesses resumed.

Vote 1 under Office of the Chief Electoral Officer carried on division.

At 12:15 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:17 p.m., the sitting resumed.

The Chair called Vote 1 under Leaders' Debates Commission.

The Right Hon. David Johnston made a statement and, with Bradley Eddison, answered questions.

At 1:01 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
