Pursuant to Standing Order 32(5), the Committee resumed consideration of the report of the Chief Electoral Officer entitled "An Electoral Framework for the 21st Century: Recommendations from the Chief Electoral Officer of Canada Following the 42nd General Election", referred to the Committee on Tuesday, September 27, 2016.

Stéphane Perrault, Michel Roussel and Jacques Mailloux made statements and answered questions.

It was agreed, — That the following officials from Elections Canada be permitted to attend today’s in camera meeting: Rahul Badami, Trevor Knight, Anne Lawson, Cédric Lévesque, Lyne Morin, Nicole Sloan.

It was agreed, — That, for the study of the Chief Electoral Officer’s report entitled "An Electoral Framework for the 21st Century: Recommendations from the Chief Electoral Officer of Canada Following the 42nd General Election", the Chair may convene meetings in camera.

It was agreed, — That, for the study of the Chief Electoral Officer’s report entitled "An Electoral Framework for the 21st Century: Recommendations from the Chief Electoral Officer of Canada Following the 42nd General Election", officials from Elections Canada be invited to attend meetings as expert witnesses.

It was agreed, — That, for the study of the Chief Electoral Officer’s report entitled "An Electoral Framework for the 21st Century: Recommendations from the Chief Electoral Officer of Canada Following the 42nd General Election", the officials in attendance at any in camera meeting be authorized to brief the Chief Electoral Officer and other appropriate officials from Elections Canada, provided that the in camera nature of the proceedings is respected by all officials from Elections Canada in attendance, as well as those who are briefed.

At 12:43 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
