Creation of an Independent Commissioner Responsible for Leaders’ Debates
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(a)(vi) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, November 2, 2017, the Committee resumed its study of the creation of an independent commissioner responsible for leaders’ debates.

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "The Creation of an Independent Commissioner Responsible for Leaders’ Debates".

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

It was agreed, — That dissenting or supplementary opinions be in Calibri 12-point font, left aligned and be submitted electronically, in both official languages, to the Clerk of the Committee, not later than 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2018.

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

Private Members' Business
Pursuant to Standing Order 92, the Committee commenced consideration of matters related to C-385, An Act to amend the Navigation Protection Act (certain lakes and rivers in British Columbia).

The Chair presented the Third Report from the Subcommittee on Private Members' Business of the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs.

It was agreed, — That the report of the Subcommittee be concurred in.

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

Committee Business
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the Chair write to Anthony Housefather, M.P., and Nathaniel Erskine-Smith, M.P., in response to the letter received on Tuesday, February 13, 2018.

At 12:31 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
