Minutes of Proceedings
It was agreed, — That the Clerk of the Committee seek additional information regarding the request related to parliamentary privilege.
It was agreed, — That the Second Report from the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, which read as follows, be concurred in as amended:
Your Subcommittee met on Tuesday, September 20, 2016, to consider the business of the Committee and agreed to make the following recommendations:
1. That, on September 22, 2016, the Committee meet to consider items of committee business, including a request related to parliamentary privilege, a possible modification of Standing Order 28(3) and a notice of motion submitted by Anita Vandenbeld.
2. That, on September 27, 2016, the Committee conduct a site visit of the West Block which includes a briefing session in regards to the layout and function of the temporary House of Commons Chamber in the West Block.
3. That, on September 29, 2016, the Committee meet to resume its study of the Question of Privilege Related to the Matter of the Premature Disclosure of the Contents of Bill C-14, An Act to amend the Criminal Code and to make related amendments to other Acts (medical assistance in dying).
4. That, on October 4, 2016, the Committee commence a study of the Chief Electoral Officer’s upcoming report on recommendations for legislative reforms following the 42nd General Election; and that the Chief Electoral Officer be invited to appear.
5. That, on October 6, 2016, the Committee meet to discuss a work plan for its study of the Chief Electoral Officer’s upcoming report on recommendations for legislative reforms following the 42nd General Election.
6. That, on October 18, 2016, the Committee meet for the first of two briefing sessions on the Parliamentary Protective Service.
7. That, on October 20, 2016, the Committee resume its study of the Chief Electoral Officer’s upcoming report on recommendations for legislative reforms following the 42nd General Election.
It was agreed, — That members submit their lists of witnesses to the Clerk of the Committee, in relation to the briefing sessions on the Parliamentary Protective Service, no later than Wednesday, September 28, 2016.
It was agreed, — That the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure meet at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 29, 2016.
At 12:03 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
