Minutes of Proceedings
The Committee commenced consideration of a draft report.
The witnesses answered questions.
It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.
It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "A Second Interim Report in Response to the Chief Electoral Officer’s Recommendations for Legislative Reforms Following the 42nd General Election".
It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analyst be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.
It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.
ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.
ORDERED, — That the Chair make arrangements for an informal meeting with the Right Honourable Ken Macintosh, Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament, on Thursday, April 6, 2017.
It was agreed, — That the Sixth Report from the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, which read as follows, be concurred in:
1. That the Committee continue its study of the Chief Electoral Officer’s report entitled "An Electoral Framework for the 21st Century: Recommendations from the Chief Electoral Officer of Canada Following the 42nd General Election" on March 21 and 23, April 4, 6, 11, and 13, 2017.
2. That the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure meet on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, to consider the future business of the Committee.
At 11:59 a.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 12:02 p.m., the sitting resumed in a public and televised session.
The Minister made a statement and, with Ian McCowan and Natasha Kim, answered questions.
At 1:06 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
