Tuesday, April 3, 2001

The Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs met at 11:07 a.m. this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the Chair, Derek Lee, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Stéphane Bergeron, Rick Borotsik, Marlene Catterall, Michel Guimond, Derek Lee, Paul Macklin, Geoff Regan, Jacques Saada, Chuck Strahl and Tony Tirabassi.

Acting Members present: Tony Valeri for Carolyn Parrish; Julian Reed for John Richardson.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: James Robertson, research officer.

Witnesses: From the House of Commons: Elaine Diguer, Chief, I-Net & Multimedia, Information Services, TV and Radio; Jean M. Leduc, Operations Manager, Information Services, TV and Radio.

Michel Guimond moved, - That, a recorded division be taken to sustain the decision of the Chair originating from the meeting of Thursday, March 29, 2001 concerning admissibility of the request contained in the letter received under Standing Order 106(3).

And debate thereon, the decision was sustained on the following recorded division:

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(a)(v), the Committee proceeded to the review of the radio and television broadcasting of the proceedings of House committees (See Minutes of Proceedings, Tuesday, March 13, 2001, Meeting No. 7).

Elaine Diguer made a short statement and, with Jean Leduc, answered questions.

At 12:14 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
