The Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs met at 11:44 a.m. this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the Chair, Derek Lee, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Marlene Catterall, Cheryl Gallant, Yvon Godin, Michel Guimond, Derek Lee, Paul Macklin, Carolyn Parrish, Geoff Regan, John Richardson and Jacques Saada.

Acting Members present: Joe Fontana for Joe Jordan; Marlene Jennings for Tony Tirabassi.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: James Robertson, research officer.

Witnesses: From the Senate: The Hon. Jerahmiel S. Grafstein. From the House of Commons: Marlene Jennings, Notre-Dame-de-Grâce--Lachine.

Committee's mandate pursuant to Standing Orders 92 and 108(3)(a)(iv) in relation to Private Members' Business

By unanimous consent, on motion of Jacques Saada, it was agreed, - That Bill S-14 be made a votable item.

Pursuant to its Order of Reference of Tuesday, April 24, 2001, the Committee resumed consideration of Bill S-10, An Act to amend the Parliament of Canada Act (Parliamentary Poet Laureate) (See Minutes of Proceedings, Tuesday, March 13, 2001, Meeting No. 7).

On motion of Marlene Catterall, it was agreed, - That the Committee do now adjourn.

At 12:05 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
