Tuesday, December 4, 2001

The Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs met at 11:12 a.m. this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the Chair, Peter Adams, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Peter Adams, Marlene Catterall, Yvon Godin, Michel Guimond, Jay Hill, Joe Jordan, Paul Macklin, Carolyn Parrish, Geoff Regan, John Richardson and Tony Tirabassi.

Acting Members present: Guy St-Julien for Jacques Saada; Carol Skelton for Cheryl Gallant; Garry Breitkreuz for Richard Harris; Roy Bailey for John Reynolds; Claude Bachand for Pierre Brien.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: James Robertson, research officer.

Witness: From the House of Commons: Marie-Andrée Lajoie, Principal Clerk, House Proceedings.

Geoff Regan moved, ‑ That the Committee rescind the decision not to make S-22 votable.

After debate, it was agreed that the motion be withdrawn.

Pursuant to the Order of Reference from the House of Commons of June 12, 2001, consideration of changes to the Standing Orders in order to improve procedures for the consideration of Private Members' Business.

At 11:58 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
