Tuesday, October 2, 2001
The Standing Committee on Health met at 3:35 p.m. this day, in Room 536, Wellington Building, for the purpose of electing a Chair, pursuant to Standing Orders 106(1) and (2)
Member(s) of the Committee present: Diane Ablonczy, André Bachand, Bonnie Brown, Jeannot Castonguay, Brenda Chamberlain, Stan Dromisky, James Lunney, Réal Ménard, Rob Merrifield, Judy Sgro, Yolande Thibeault.
Acting Member(s) present: Mauril Bélanger for Reg Alcock
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Nancy Miller Chenier and Sonya Norris, research officers
Pursuant to Standing Order 106(1) and (2), the Clerk of the Committee presided over the election of the Chair.
On motion of Yolande Thibeault, it was agreed, -- That Bonnie Brown do take the chair of the Committee.
Accordingly, Bonnie Brown was declared duly elected Chair of the Committee and took the chair.
On motion of Brenda Chamberlain, it was agreed – that Reg Alcock be elected Government Vice-Chair of the Committee.
On motion of Diane Ablonczy, it was agreed – that Rob Merrifield be elected Opposition Vice-Chair of the Committee.
At 3:50 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
