The Standing Committee on Health met at 11:13 a.m. this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Bonnie Brown, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Bonnie Brown, Colleen Beaumier, Jeannot Castonguay, Brenda Chamberlain, Stan Dromisky, James Lunney, Réal Ménard, Rob Merrifield, Judy Sgro, Yolande Thibeault.
Acting Members present: Preston Manning for Diane Ablonczy, Pauline Picard for Diane Bourgeois.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Nancy Miller Chenier and Sonya Norris, Research Officers.
Witnesses: From Health Canada: Rhonda Ferderber, Director, Special Projects Division, Policy, Planning and Priorities Directorate, Health Policy and Communications Branch; Michael Bryden, Senior Planning Advisor, Health Policy and Communications Branch, Special Projects Division. The Committee resumed consideration of the draft legislation on Assisted Human Reproduction. (See Minutes of Proceedings dated Thursday, May 3, 2001, Meeting No. 13).
Rhonda Ferderber, Alan Gilmore and Michael Prince made statements and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.
At 1:02 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
