The Standing Committee on Health met at 3:38 p.m. this day, in Room 362, East Block, the Chair, Bonnie Brown, presiding.
Member(s) of the Committee present: Bonnie Brown, André Bachand, Jeannot Castonguay, Brenda Chamberlain, Stan Dromisky, James Lunney, Rob Merrifield, Judy Sgro, Yolande Thibeault, Judy Wasylycia-Leis.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Nancy Miller Chenier and Sonya Norris, Research Officers.
Witness(es): From the World Health Organization: Dr. Gro Harlem Brundtland, Director General; Dr. David Nabarro, Executive Director, Director General’s Office.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee proceeded to an informal exchange of views on international health issues.
Gro Harlem Brundtland made a statement and, together with David Nabarro, answered questions.
At 4:40 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
