The Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration met at 4:20 p.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Rey Pagtakhan, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Jean Augustine, Leon Benoit, Sophia Leung, Steve Mahoney, Pat Martin, John McKay, Réal Ménard, Rey Pagtakhan and Andrew Telegdi.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Margaret Young, Researcher.
Witnesses:From the Department of Citizenship and Immigration: Joan Atkinson, Director General, Selection Branch; Jeff LeBane, Director General, International Region; John Mizobuchi, Acting Director, Operational Coordination, International Region; Don Myatt, Director, Business Immigration, Selection Branch.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), consideration of selected aspects of the Business Immigration Program (See Minutes of Proceedings of Thursday, February 4, 1999, Meeting No. 46).
Joan Atkinson made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.
At 5:30 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
