The Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration met in camera at 3:40. o’clock p.m., this day, in Room 362-E, Est Block, the Chair, Stan Dromisky, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Jean Augustine, Sarmite Bulte, Norman Doyle, Stan Dromisky, Raymonde Folco, Louise Hardy, Sophia Leung, Steve Mahoney, Réal Ménard, Maria Minna, John Reynolds and Jacques Saada.
In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Margaret Young, Research Officer.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of Recommendation 155 of the Report of the Legislative Review Advisory Group entitled "Not just Numbers: A Canadian Framework for Future Immigration", particularly issues relating to removal and detention. (See Minutes of Proceeding of Wednesday, February 18, 1998, Meeting No. 10.)
The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.
At 5:18 o’clock p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
