The Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration met at 3:39 p.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Chair, Rey Pagtakhan, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Mark Assad, Jean Augustine, Leon Benoit, Norman Doyle, John McKay, Grant McNally, Réal Ménard, Rey Pagtakhan and Andrew Telegdi.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Margaret Young, Researcher.
Witnesses:From the Department of Citizenship and Immigration: Elizabeth Tromp, Director General, Enforcement; Jeff LeBane, Director General, International Region; Joan Atkinson, Director General, Selection Branch.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee proceeded to consider the subject of Visitor Visas.
Elizabeth Tromp and Jeff LeBane made statements and, with the other witness, answered questions.
At 5:35 p.m., the Committee adjourned until 9:00 a.m. Thursday, December 3, 1998.
