Wednesday, May 29, 2002
The Sub-Committee on International Trade, Trade Disputes and Investment of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met in camera at 3:32 p.m. this day, in Room 307, West Block, the Chair, Mac Harb, presiding.
Members of the Sub-Committee present: Mark Eyking, Mac Harb, Pat O'Brien, Pierre Paquette, Svend Robinson, Tony Valeri.
Acting Member present: John Duncan for Rick Casson.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Peter Berg and Michael Holden, Research Officers.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Sub-Committee resumed its study of an examination of the Free Trade Area of the Americas in view of strengthening economic relations between Canada and the Americas, (See Minutes of Proceedings of Wednesday, January 30, 2002, Meeting no. 17).
The Sub-Committee considered a draft report on the examination of the Free Trade Area of the Americas in view of strengthening economic relations between Canada and the Americas.
It was agreed, - That the
draft report be adopted, as amended, as the Twelfth Report of the
Sub-Committee.
It was agreed, - That the
title of the report be:
“Strengthening Canada’s
Economic Links with the Americas”
It was
agreed, - That the chair, researchers and clerks be authorized to make such
typographical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the
substance of the report.
It was
agreed, - That the chair be instructed to present the Twelfth Report of the
Sub-Committee to the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade.
At 4:31 p.m., the Sub-Committee adjourned to the
call of the Chair.
