Meeting No. 32
Wednesday, April 24, 2002
The Sub-Committee on International Trade, Trade Disputes and Investment of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met in camera at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 701, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Mac Harb, presiding.
Members of the Sub-Committee present: Rick Casson, Mark Eyking, Mac Harb, Pat O’Brien, Pierre Paquette, and Tony Valeri.
Acting Members present: Murray Calder for Bob Speller, Joe
Peschisolido for Tony Valeri.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Peter Berg, Michael Holden, and Jay Sinha, Research Officers.
The Sub-Committee considered a draft report on an assessment of WTO negotiating issues from a Canadian perspective.
It was agreed, - That the
draft report be adopted, as amended, as the Eleventh Report of the
Sub-Committee.
It was agreed, - That the
title of the report be:
“Building an Effective New
Round of WTO Negotiations: Key Issues for Canada”
It was
agreed, - That the chair, researchers and clerks be authorized to make such
typographical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the
substance of the report.
It was
agreed, - That the chair be instructed to present the Eleventh Report of the
Sub-Committee to the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International
Trade.
At 5:30 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the
call of the Chair.
