Meeting No. 30

Monday, April 15, 2002

The Sub-Committee on International Trade, Trade Disputes and Investment of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met at 11:00 a.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Mac Harb, presiding.

Members of the Sub-Committee present: Rick Casson, Mark Eyking, Mac Harb, Bob Speller and Tony Valeri.

Acting Members present: Richard Marceau for Pierre Paquette.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Peter Berg and Michael Holden, Research Officers.

Witnesses: From the International Development Research Centre: Dr. Rohinton Medhora, Vice President, Programs and Partnership; Dr. Susan Joekes, Team Leader. From  Grey, Clark, Shih and Associates Limited: Peter Clark, President. From the Government Policy Consultants: Gerry Shannon, Senior Consultant. From the Retail Council of Canada: Sharon Maloney, Vice President. From  "Option Consommateurs": Patrick Vanasse, Director of Research, Representation Services; Delphine Nakache.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Sub-Committee resumed its study of an assessment of WTO negotiating issues from a Canadian perspective, (See Minutes of Proceedings of Wednesday, January 30, 2002, Meeting no. 17).

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

At 12:33 p.m., the Sub-Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
