The Sub-Committee on International Trade, Trade Disputes and Investment of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 307, West Block, the Chair, Mac Harb, presiding.
Members of the Sub-Committee present: Bill Casey, Rick Casson, Mark Eyking, Mac Harb, Pat O'Brien, Pierre Paquette, Tony Valeri.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Peter Berg, Research Officer.
Witnesses: From the Canadian Bar Association: Simon V. Potter, First Vice-President; Tamra L. Thomson, Director, Legislation and Law Reform. From the Canadian Restaurant and Food Services Association: David Barlow, Vice-President, Harvey's - Cara Operations Limited; Stephanie Jones, Vice-President, Food Supply, CRFA. From the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada: Gilles Valiquette, President; Paul Spurgeon, General Counsel. From the Chicken Farmers of Canada: Mike Dungate, General Manager. From the Canadian Association of University Teachers: David Robinson, Associate Executive Director. From the Canadian Labour Congress: Pierre Laliberté, Senior Economist, Social and Economic Policy.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Sub-Committee resumed its study of an assessment of WTO negotiating issues from a Canadian perspective, (See Minutes of Proceedings of Wednesday, January 30, 2002, Meeting no. 17).
The witnesses made statements and answered questions.
At 5:22 p.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 5:25 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.
At 5:35 p.m., the Sub-Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
