The Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food met in a televised session at 12:31 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Charles Hubbard, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: David Anderson, Rick Borotsik, Garry Breitkreuz, Murray Calder, Claude Duplain, Mark Eyking, Howard Hilstrom, Charles Hubbard, Rick Laliberte, Larry McCormick, Dick Proctor, Bob Speller, Paul Steckle, Suzanne Tremblay, Rose-Marie Ur.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Frédéric Forge and Jean-Denis Fréchette, Research Officers.

Appearing: From Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada: The Hon. Lyle Vanclief, Minister, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.

Witnesses: From Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada: Samy Watson, Deputy Minister; Diane Vincent, Associate Deputy Minister; Bruce Deacon, Assistant Deputy Minister, Corporate Management Branch. From the Canadian Food Inspection Agency: Ron Doering, President.

ORDERED, - That the Supplementary Estimates (A), for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2002: VOTES 1a,5a,10a,25a and 30a under AGRICULTURE AND AGRI-FOOD, laid upon the table on November 1, 2001 be referred to the Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food.
