The Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food met at 9:10 a.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, Charles Hubbard, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: David L. Anderson, Rick Borotsik, Murray Calder, Mark Eyking, Marcel Gagnon, Howard Hilstrom, Charles Hubbard, Dick Proctor, Bob Speller, Paul Steckle and Rose-Marie Ur.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Frédéric Forge and Jean-Denis Fréchette, Research Officers.
Witnesses: From the Pest Management Regulatory Agency: Richard Aucoin, Acting Director, Product Sustainability and Coordination Division; Daniel Chaput, Director, Compliance, Laboratory Services and Regional Operations Division; Dr. Claire Franklin, Executive Director; Janet Taylor, Manager, Registered Product Evaluation Business Line.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), Study on the Registration of Pesticides and the Competitiveness of Canadian Farmers.
Claire Franklin, Daniel Chaput and Janet Taylor made opening statements and, with the other witness, answered questions.
At 11:00 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
