Tuesday, October 2, 2001
The Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food met at 3:35 p.m. this day, in Room 208, West Block for the purpose of electing a Chair pursuant to Standing Orders 106(1) and (2).
Member(s) of the Committee present: David L. Anderson, Rick Borotsik, Garry Breitkreuz, Murray Calder, Claude Duplain, Mark Eyking, Marcel Gagnon, Howard Hilstrom, Charles Hubbard, Larry McCormick, Dick Proctor, Paul Steckle, Rose-Marie Ur.
Acting Member(s) present: Wayne Easter for Bob Speller and Ovid Jackson for Rick Laliberté.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Jean-Denis Fréchette, Research Officer. From the Committees and Parliamentary Associations Directorate: Danielle Belisle.
Pursuant to Standing Order 106(1) and (2), election of a Chair and Vice-Chairs.
The Clerk of the Committee presided over the election of the Chair of the Committee.
On motion of Howard Hilstrom, it was agreed, -- That Charles Hubbard do take the Chair of this Committee.
Accordingly, Charles Hubbard was declared duly elected Chair of the Committee and took the Chair.
On motion of Murray Calder, it was agreed, -- That Howard Hilstrom be elected Vice-Chair of the Committee.
On motion of David L. Anderson, it was agreed, -- That Murray Calder be elected as Vice-Chair of the Committee.
It was agreed, -- That the Committee meet with the Canadian Cervid Council on Thursday, October 4th, 2001 at 9:00 a.m.
At 3:49 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
